A. CALL TO ORDER – REGULAR MEETING
The Adelanto City Council held the Joint Workshop Meeting on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, via teleconference 1-415-655-0001 - conference code 146 275 0870 of the Governmental Center located at 11600 Air Expressway, Adelanto, California. Mayor Reyes called to order the regular closed session at 5:03 p.m.
Council Members present: Evans, Jeannette, and Mayor Pro Tem Ramos.
Noted as absent: Jones and Mayor Reyes.
Planning Members present: Soto, Meza, Vice Chair Delgado, Chair Waggener Invocation: Council Member Jeannette
Flag Salute: Planning Commissioner Delgado
Mayor Reyes arrived at 5:04 p.m.

C. APPROVAL OF AGENDA
MOTION: Moved by Mayor Reyes, seconded by Council Member Jeannette to approve the agenda as presented.
Motion carried 4-1 (Council Member Evans, Jeannette, Mayor Pro Tem Ramos, and Mayor Reyes voting yes, Council Member Jones noted as absent).

ON THE DRAFT HOUSING ELEMENT OF THE GENERAL PLAN
RECOMMENDATION:
This Joint City Council and Planning Commission Workshop requires no formal action from either the City Council or the Planning Commission. The Planning Staff is seeking comments from the City Council and Planning Commission on the Draft Housing Element of the General Plan which is being updated pursuant to the State Department of Housing and Community Development regulations. https://www.ci.adelanto.ca.us/DocumentCenter/View/1772/Adelanto-032-HousingElement Marc Blodgett presented a staff report.
Malia Durant presented a staff report.
Further discussion ensued regarding the item.

Carlos Rodriguez with the BIA thanked the presenter regarding the item.
Maribel Nunez spoke about Adelanto being behind on the housing element.

The City Manager gave an overview of housing projects in the city.

MOTION: Moved by Commissioner Jeannette seconded by Vice Chair Delgado to adjourn the meeting at 6:22 p.m.
Motion carried 4-1 (Evans, Jeannette, Mayor Pro Tem Ramos, and Mayor Reyes voting yes, Jones noted as absent).
