A. CALL TO ORDER – SPECIAL MEETING
The Adelanto City Council held the Special Meeting on Wednesday, September 1, 2022, via teleconference 1-415-655-0001 - conference code 146 275 0870 of the Governmental Center located at 11600 Air Expressway, Adelanto, California. Mayor Reyes called to order the regular closed session at 1:00 p.m.
Council Members present: Evans, Jeannette, Jones, Mayor Pro Tem Ramos and Mayor Reyes.

B. PUBLIC COMMUNICATIONS
Mayor Reyes opened public comment at 1:02 p.m.
Lee spoke about meetings with no agenda being posted. He asked the council to follow the proper procedures.
Diana Esmeralda shared that she has a company called I Love Adelanto and she provides recreation services for the citizens. She shared that they have created a craft / farmer vendor fair.
Magda said it’s a great thing coming up. She encouraged residents to show up and participate.
Monique Carrillo shared that she understands why there was a last-minute meeting and encourages everyone to try and attend.
Heather Gaines spoke about the enjoyment of seeing the community coming together.
Miguel Soto said he is happy about the event and it’s great for the community.
Mayor Reyes closed public comment at 1:14 p.m.

2 C. NEW BUSINESS
1. DISCUSSION ITEM. MOVIES IN THE PARK (FINANCE/ CITY MANAGER/CITY CLERK)
RECOMMENDATION – Staff recommends that the City Council provide final direction on movies in the Park scheduled for September 9th 16th, 23rd and 30th.
City Clerk Lopez presented the staff report.
Discussion ensued regarding providing dinner for attendees and what number would be the cap for providing dinners.
Mayor Reyes opened public comment at 1:27 p.m.
Magda gave thanks to the council for working together.
Diana Esmeralda shared her excitement.
Monique Carrillo shared she caters within the city including Adelanto High School. She shared that she is willing to help with coordinating the best deals for the City.
Heather Gaines stated she is willing to help donate items to make it happen.
Lee spoke about the event and getting vendors to come out.
Mayor Reyes closed public comment at 1:43 p.m.
Further discussion ensued regarding the item.
The council agreed on a $7,000.00 budget.
2. DISCUSSION ITEM. CITY OF ADELANTO CHRISTMAS PARADE. (FINANCE/
CITY MANAGER/CITY CLERK)
RECOMMENDATION – Staff to provide budget and receive direction from City Council.
City Clerk Lopez presented the staff report.
Further discussion ensued regarding the item.
Mayor Reyes opened public comment at 2:11 p.m.

3 Monique wanted to make sure the seniors are involved in the parade.
Magda spoke about the event.
Heather asked for a float for high school.
Mayor Reyes closed public comment at 2:22 p.m.
Further discussion ensued.
The council agreed on making sure the public is aware of the event with flyers, billboards, and social media.
D. ADJOURNMENT
The next Regular Meeting of the City Council will be held on September 14, 2022, at 7:00 pm.
There being no further business the Chair adjourned the meeting at 2:48 p.m.
MOTION: Moved by Mayor Reyes, seconded by Council Member Jeannette to adjourn the meeting.
Motion carried 5-0 (Evans, Jeannette, Jones, Mayor Pro Tem Ramos and Mayor Reyes voting yes).
