A. CALL TO ORDER – SPECIAL MEETING
The Adelanto City Council held the Special Meeting on Wednesday, December, 2024, via teleconference 1-415-655-0001 - conference code 146 275 0870 of the Governmental Center located at 11600 Air Expressway, Adelanto, California. Mayor Reyes called to order the special closed session meeting at 6:03 p.m.
Council Members present: Jeannette, Mayor Pro Tem Ramos, and Mayor Reyes.
Absent: Council Member Uptergrove and Council Member Meza Invocation: King Ramos
Flag Salute: Mayor Pro Tem Ramos
B. PUBLIC COMMUNICATIONS
Mayor Reyes opened public comment at 6:05 p.m.
Michael Krause: He shared he was just elected to the school board and is looking forward to collaborating together in the future.
Mayor Reyes closed public comment at 6:06 p.m.
C. CANVASS OF THE ELECTION
1. DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD ON NOVEMBER 5, 2024.

City Clerk Lopez presented the staff report.
The Total Number Of Register Of Voters For Adelanto Is 16,236 We Had 2,171 Voters Who Went To The Polls (Precincts). (Provisional Count Is Included In This Amount).
We Had 7,366 Voters Who Chose To Vote By Mail (Absentee).
The Number Of Registered Voters That Voted: 9,537
There Were Four Candidates For The Office Of City Council – Where An Election Was Held For The Purpose Of Electing Two (2) Candidates --For A 4 Year Term.

Edward C. Reyes
Two Elected Candidates:
Daniel J. Ramos With A Total Vote Of 3,181
Stevevonna Evans. With A Total Vote Of 2,801
Measure R – Business License Tax
The Total Number Of Register Of Voters For Adelanto Is 16,236 We Had 1,737 Voters Who Went To The Polls (Precincts). (Provisional Count Is Included In This Amount)
And We Had 5,707 Voters Who Chose To Vote By Mail (Absentee).
The Number Of Registered Voters That Voted: 7,434

3 Staff Requests For Council To Approve The Certificate Of Canvass Performed By The County Of San Bernardino Reciting The Facts Of The General Municipal Election Held On November 5, 2024, By Approving Resolution No. 24-96 .
City Clerk Lopez had Ramos and Evans sworn in.
Mayor Reyes opened public comment at 6:14 p.m.
Ed Camargo: He congratulated both candidates.
Joy Jeannette: She congratulated both candidates and shared her excitement.
Mayor Reyes closed public comment at 6:18 p.m.
D. OPENING CEREMONIES
1. Swearing in the new members of the City of Adelanto City Council. The City Clerk will present the newly elected Council Members with a Certificate of Election.
City Clerk Lopez had Ramos and Evans sworn in.
E. ROLL CALL
Roll Call at 6:13 p.m.
Council Members present: Evans, Mayor Pro Tem Ramos, and Mayor Reyes.
Absent: Council Member Uptergrove and Council Member Meza L. ADJOURNMENT
The next Regular Meeting of the City Council will be held on January 8, 2025 at 11:00 a.m.
MOTION: Moved by Mayor Pro Tem Ramos seconded by Council Member Evans to adjourn the meeting at 6:19 p.m.
Motion carried 3-2 ( Evans, Mayor Pro Tem Ramos and Mayor Reyes voting yes, Meza and Uptergrove noted as absent).
