Project Description: New two-story office building
I am requesting permission to participate in the public hearing set for August 28, 2024 at 6:00pm.
I request that the city of Agoura Hills deny the proposed building at 5066 Chesebro Road for the following reasons:
1. The Traffic pattern along this property with the location of the Proposed Driveway is a hazard and can have a serious impact on public safety by creating blind spots to vehicles and pedestrians, and other hazards.
2. Parking. If the building is indeed for office use then there may be enough parking stalls, but if the proposed building is used for any medical uses such as consultation, procedures, dispensary, etc., then more parking stalls need to be included. To ensure proper building usage the city should take measures to prohibit ANY medical services at the site.
3. Since the building application changed from Medial to Office/Business the needs to ensure measures are taken that no Tenant Improvements would be approved or allowed at this site. They should never be exceptions allowed for medical uses now, or in the future.
4. An Oak Tree exception was granted, the owner should be required to replace/plant an Oak Tree somewhere else within the City Limits, preferable within the Old Agoura Overlay. This exception should not have been granted.
5. The proposed Modern architecture does not comply with, and is not consistent with, the Old Agoura Overlay.
6. The architecture of this proposed modern building does not conform with the architecture of other buildings that have been approved and built in our city and should not be allowed. How can we justify approval of this building when we have denied others? This exception has the potential to completely alter our community and planning vision. Once this exception is made others will follow.
Do not allow this building to create a new precedence.
I admire the job our city commissioners have done to date in order to protect the integrity of our city; we lean on them today to continue to do so.
Sincerely,
Tom Alleeson, CHST, CIT
