CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 14727
AUTHORIZING THE EXTENSION OF THE ABANDONED VEHICLE
ABATEMENT PROGRAM UNITL MAY, 2023
WHEREAS, the Alameda County Abandoned Vehicle Authority (AVA) was formed in 1993 , and the City of Alameda is an active member; and WHEREAS , the AVA Program has contributed approximately $1 558 000. ;: and allowed for the abatement of approximately 55 000 abandoned vehicles in the City of Alameda; and
WHEREAS, new legislation allows for a 10-year extension of the AVA Gi Program with the approval of the County and a majority of the cities comprising a majority of the population of the incorporated areas; and WHEREAS , the AVA Program is set to expire in May, 2013; and WHEREAS , it is beneficial to the City of Alameda to have the AVA Program 1'

NOW , THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Alameda hereby supports the extension of the AVA Program until May 2023. , the undersigned , hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in a regular meeting assembled on the 4 day of September, 2012 , by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Council members Bonta , deHaan , Johnson , Tam and Mayor Gilmore - 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
ABSTENTIONS: None.
