AMENDING THE FLEET REPLACEMENT FUND (601) BUDGET (1)
REAPPROPRIATING $393,000 FROM FISCAL YEAR 2024-25 TO
FISCAL YEAR 2023 -24 TO ADVANCE THE STREET SWEEPER
PURCHASE FROM F ISCAL YEAR 2024-25 TO FISCAL YEAR 2023- 24; AND (2) R EAPPROPRIATING $119,000 IN UNSPENT FUNDS
FROM FISCAL YEAR 2022-23 TO FISCAL YEAR 2023-24 FOR THE
PURCHASE OF A DUMP TRUCK
WHEREAS, on June 20, 2023 City Council approved the Fiscal Year (FY) 2023 - 25 Biennial Operating Budget, which includes funds to replace one street sweeper in FY 2024-25; and
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda (City) retired a reserve street sweeper due to mechanical failure and the purchase of a new street sweeper is needed sooner than anticipated; and
WHEREAS, funds to replace a dump truck were allocated in the FY 2022 -23 Operating Budget and unspent at the end of FY 2022-23; and
WHEREAS, the existing dump truck is 23-years-old and in need of repairs far in excess of its value;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Finance Director is hereby authorized to a mend the FY 2023 -25 Biennial Budget in the Fleet Replacement Fund (601) appropriating $393,000 from FY 2024 -25 to FY 2023 -24 to advance the Street Sweeper Purchase from FY 2024-25 to FY 2023-24; and
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Finance Director is hereby authorized to re-appropriate $119,000 in unspent funds in the Fleet Replacement Fund (601) from FY 2022-23 to FY 2023-24 for the purchase of one Dump Truck.
