Legal Advertising - Fiscal Year 2023-24, Alameda Sun Newspaper for the City of Alameda The voluntary Board of Directors for Stellar Media Group, Inc, doing business as the Alameda Sun newspaper, which has served the City of Alameda community for over 23 years was hoping that after the pandemic (Covid 19) business conditions would recover. However, after almost 20 months, the market conditions are recovering at a terribly slow pace and the Alameda business community has found alternate means to reach their customers.
This situation has forced the Board of Directors of the Stellar Media Group, Inc. to make an extremely hard decision based on the above facts and the financial impact to close operation of the newspaper effective November 30, 2023, with the last publication of the Alameda Sun edition.
The city's legal announcements in the Alameda Sun can therefore not be accepted after November 27, 2023. There are alternate sources the City can use after that date including: the San Leandro Times (published by an Alameda resident) or the Alameda Journal.
