You all need to demand the stop of any aid to Israel and demand the immediate ceasefire and freedom of Palestine. US tax money funding genocide is disgusting, inexcusable and the people will not stand for it.

Dear City Council Members,
I am a constiuent in Hayward CA, 94544 and I am writing to urge you to put a resolution for a Ceasefire in Gaza on the agenda. This is a matter that is very important to me and so many others in Alameda County. I urge you to listen to Alameda 4 Ceasefire and their concerns over the ongoing horrific violence being enacted with our tax dollars.
Thank you,
Jasmin

Subject: Join other city officials for a Permanent Ceasefire in Gaza Dear City Council,
I join many kinds of people and communities asking you pass a Ceasefire resolution. Over 20,000 Palestinians have been killed and tens of thousands un-named under the rubble, 63 journalists killed, humanitarian aid workers, doctors, nurses, teachers, writers, and more than 1.9 million Gazan’s or over 85% of Palestinians have been displaced. This is about Human Dignity, Human Rights and our country's reputation in the world.
Human Rights Watch says the Israeli government is using starvation as a method of warfare – deliberately blocking the delivery of water, food and fuel, willfully impeding humanitarian assistance, razing agricultural areas, depriving civilian populations of objects indispensable to human survival.
Al Jazeera’s senior political analyst Marwan Bishara wrote that the “collective punishment” of Palestinians in Gaza and now the West Bank continues.
·
"They have cut off communications longer.
· Not only are they starving people but also denying medical help, clean water, electricity and communications,” he said.
· People in Gaza are suffering - like no people have ever suffered before in modern times. It’s documented and in plain sight.
You and I and most Alamedans are paying federal tax dollars that are going to war and the genocide of the Palestinian people.
The ongoing bombing in Palestine makes many of our community members less safe, including Palestinians, Arabs, Muslims, and Jewish people.
Alameda has been the safe haven for many immigrant & refugee communities from the Philippines, Guatemala, Bosnia, Afghanistan, Sudan, and other conflict torn places. We will continue to welcome them if need be but forced migration is never a first choice for families in Gaza.
Your action supporting a Ceasefire resolution will be a powerful message to young voters in upcoming elections.
Sincerely,
Diana Cabcabin
From a young writer, Annabelle Wagner: I am Changed by the Things I Have Seen in Palestine
https://medium.com/@annielee-1998/i-am-changed-125184314247 Excerpt:
I have seen a beautiful land destroyed. Churches and
mosques, some of the oldest in the world, decimated.
Olive trees chopped down or torched.
I have seen the bodies of dead children held up by
their parents for the cameras, unable to grieve
privately because they need to prove to the world
that yes, they are dying, their children are dying. I
have seen them cradling burial shrouds, styling their
hair so they look nice even in death. I have seen
doctors perform painful surgeries on their own
children without the use of anesthetics, only for
them to die anyway. I have seen premature babies
wither away slowly in their powerless incubators.
7,000 children gone before they even got a chance to
live.
I have seen men dig through the rubble of their homes
with their bare hands, calling out the names of their
children. I have seen paramedics breaking down in
tears as they comfort orphaned babies. I have seen
journalists learn of the deaths of their whole
families live on air, then immediately go back to
reporting because the world needs to know, to see
what is happening. I have seen women forced to talk
about the intimate details of their menstruation
because they don’t have pads or tampons, painkillers
or heating pads. Small things that we take for
granted in America. I have seen them all, bandaged
and bleeding in ruined hospitals, eyes blank as
people die and scream around them.

I urge you to call for a ceasefire now and stand against our tax dollars being used to fund a genocide including the murder of thousands of children.
