AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2024-25 ARPA FUND (FUND 223)
OPERATING BUDGET APPROPRIATING $232,000 FROM
AVAILABLE EARNED INTEREST TO PROJECT C99300
(AMERICAN RESUCE PLAN 2021) EMERGENCY HOUSING
ALAMEDA POINT
WHEREAS, on June 18, 2024, the City Council did adopt by Resolution No. 16173 a budget representing the financial plan for conducting the affairs of the City of Alameda for the Fiscal Year beginning July 1, 2025 and ending June 30, 2025; and
WHEREAS, staff from the Village of Love, the City’s Housing and Human Services Division, Police Department, Fire Department, CARE Team and Alameda Family Services are seeing a need for ongoing and intensive mental health services for individuals experiencing homelessness in Alameda; and
WHEREAS, staff is proposing that American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) expenditure appropriations in Project C99300 (American Rescue Plan 2021) Emergency Housing Alameda Point be increased by $ 232,0000 to fund an additional service period for services provide by The Village of Love Foundation; and
WHEREAS, sufficient available funding in the form of earned interest has been identified in the ARPA Fund (Fund 232); and
WHEREAS, the Council has considered the report and recommendations of the City Manager on the budget amendment and has determined that the budget amendment is both fair and appropriate; and
WHEREAS, this budget ensures that the City of Alameda has exercised prudent judgment in its fiduciary responsibility as guardian of the public tax dollars.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Alameda that budget amendment for the Fiscal Year 2024-25 Budget is approved for the ARPA Fund (Fund 223) appropriating $232,000 from available earned interest to Project C99300 (American Rescue Plan 2021) Emergency Housing Alameda Point.
