Their goals complement Alameda’s climate acon and resiliency strategies while bolstering the city’s economic development objecves.

Pacific Fusion’s investment will accelerate the redevelopment of Site B and reinforce Alameda’s reputaon as a hub for clean technology and innovaon. Their project will contribute to crical infrastructure improvements at Alameda Point and create over 200 green jobs across engineering, science, manufacturing, and R&D sectors—jobs that will sustain our local economy and provide opportunies for our residents.

Moreover, Pacific Fusion’s presence opens avenues for meaningful partnerships with educaonal instuons, fostering talent and driving economic growth. These collaboraons will inspire the next generaon of innovators and ensure that Alameda remains a leader in the clean energy transion.

We'd like the City Council to seize this opportunity by entering into an exclusive negoang agreement (ENA) with Pacific Fusion. Dear Mayor Ezzy-Ashcraft and City Council:

I strongly support Pacific Fusion’s proposal to develop a renewable energy and clean tech R&D facility on Site B at Alameda Point.

We would welcome Pacific Fusion to the growing ecosystem of clean technology and sustainability-minded businesses in Alameda. By transitioning to diverse, reliable clean energy sources, we reduce harmful greenhouse gas emissions, improve air quality, lower electricity costs, and ensure a clean energy future for the next generation.

Pacific Fusion’s mission to develop commercially viable fusion power, combines established science, practical engineering, and affordable manufacturing. Its mission aligns with Alameda’s long-term climate action and resiliency objectives, as well as the city’s economic development goals.

Pacific Fusion would serve as a catalyst to redevelop Site B at Alameda Point by contributing to infrastructure improvements on the entire parcel, while constructing its facility on just half the site -- positioning Alameda Point as an innovation hub at the Enterprise District. Their presence will create and increase green job opportunities in various sectors, including engineering, science, manufacturing, and research and development, adding more than 200 new jobs to the island.

Additionally, the well-funded upstart will enable partnership opportunities with local schools, universities, and research institutions, to foster talent development and further economic growth.

We urge the City Council to act swiftly to enter into an exclusive negotiating agreement (ENA) with Pacific Fusion to allow time for both parties to explore creating a catalytic investment at the Alameda Point Enterprise Zone.
