Councilmembers-
As you know, the Mayor and council members are prohibited from influencing City policy based on their personal animus or preferences pursuant to the City Charter and the Code of Conduct.
Yet the changes to public comments are clearly at the urging of the Mayor.
It's obvious that the reason this particular verbiage has been suggested is because she did not like the picture of her with criminal Andy Duong up on the screen during public comment; Additionally, she seeks to limit opportunities to oppose City illegal pet projects.
It is about time that City Council stops letting the Mayor's personal agenda and vendettas run the City's policy and expenditures (of time and money).
Such things affecting public access do not belong on the Consent Calendar in the first place and in any case, these changes quash first amendment rights of the public and should be removed from the agenda or rejected outright.
