Subject: [EXTERNAL] Stargell Corridor Plan

Hello,
I am writing to express strong support for the Stargell Corridor Plan. I bike weekly to Safeway and Target from the Cross Alameda Trail and this plan will make that trip significantly safer. This also increases safety in reaching the yellow shuttle to Jack London Square, which we occasionally take.
In addition, riding on Stargell west of 5th is pretty dangerous. I will do it if I am alone, but I avoid it when biking with my son because it requires riding in the street with really impatient drivers who speed up and down this road.
Thank you for your consideration.

The plan looks really good and look forward to the Roundabouts being installed.
Two comments:
The entrance to In and Out burger causes a line to extend down the road forcing other cars to drive IN THE BIKE lane. May need to consider widening the road there. Nothing but near accidents as people go past the line on the road to turn right into the Gas station area to park, or to the street. The traffic roundabout MAY make this worse by taking some of the roadway. Don’t know the ansewr.
BUS STOPS on Stargell. That road is so narrow now that buses cause traffic jams and delays as they do not pull over correctly leaving the rear of the bus out into traffic. Just look at Webster and Appazetto where bus pulls into the stop just past the light and causes traffic to back up into an active intersection. Need to WIDEN the street so that the bus that pulls over is OUT OF THE WAY.
Thanks,
Alan Tubbs
