Subject: [EXTERNAL] I live near Park Sation, I support Park Station Date: Tuesday, May 5, 2026 8:27:02 PM
I had to leave the meeting early tonight.

I live at Oak and San Jose, very close to Park Station.

I support continued use of the venue for music in the way it has been used since opening. No changes needed in my opinion.

In order to have a thriving community on Park Street, businesses need to be able to provide innovative and unique services. Live music does this.

There are too many vacant store fronts on Park. I am very happy to see Park Station revitalizing the corner of Park and San Jose.

I knew before buying our house that I was living near a commercial district and would experience higher levels of noise.

They have been very REASONABLE with the volume and frequency of live music.

I do not have a personal interest in Park Station or work in an industry affected by this decision.

I support live music at Park Station. The live music brings joy to the neighborhood and uplifts my spirits even just passing by on. Saturday afternoon.

It is important to support live performances especially in these times when so mush of our lives is mediated by the screens and recordings.

Subject: [EXTERNAL] Appeal of PLN25-0649-amplified outdoor patio at edge of housing zone Date: Tuesday, May 5, 2026 5:03:13 PM
Dear council members.

I am writing regarding the Appeal of the decision regarding PLN25-0649-amplified outdoor patio at edge of housing zone.

I feel the board did not accurately consider the sound levels requested nor that the business is not buried in a business district surrounded by newer housing.

Regarding the sound level itself, My work background is in industrial safety and health. 85 dB is the level within a factory where a hearing program is legally required. The dB sound scare, like the earthquake scale is logarithmic, not standard, Having 95 dB at the border of a housing district is unconscionable.

The inside noise in the establishment should be at maximum, 85 dB or less and the exterior should be less than 75 at its source and less than 65 at the property lines.

Regarding the nature of the housing area surrounding this business, most of the houses were constructed just after the 1800's - of board and plaster, and with absolutely no exterior insulation. No exterior insulation means no moderation of any street noise.

This would make anything above standard street noise irritating, and sustained noise above that unbearable, especially for those who desire the peaceful use of their residence. You would not want to live close to this business under this circumstance.

Because of the above, this decision, if not reverted will also affect rentability and future sale prices in this district.

Based on the above facts, pease consider reverting this decision.

Best regards,
Janet Bailey

Subject: [EXTERNAL] Supporting Park Station and live music Date: Tuesday, May 5, 2026 4:19:00 PM
Hi!
Just a note of support for Park Station to continue offering live music.

In addition to the enjoyment a large outdoor, family friendly venue with food and drinks offers, it also provides economic and cultural benefits for the neighborhood and for the city. I have often used the live music at Park Station as a reason to invite people who live in Oakland to come to Alameda— and they do! Plus, it support Bay Area musicians.

I hope some kind of compromise can be found that meets the neighbors' needs and the needs of the larger Alameda and Bay Area community. In a world that is full of increasingly awful things each day, we need more intergenerational-friendly outdoor spaces like Park Station where people can listen to music and dance for the price of a drink or a basket of fries.

Thanks for reading!
Britt

Subject: [EXTERNAL] RE May 5, 2026 City Council Agenda Item 7-A Date: Tuesday, May 5, 2026 2:16:22 PM
Good Afternoon Council Members and Madame Mayor-
I'm writing today in support of the Applicant (Park Station) for item 7-A that is to be read at tonight city council meeting.

Park Station is and will continue to be a wonderful addition to the Park Street community and surrounding neighborhood. As someone who lives within four blocks from of the business, I'm thrilled to see that corner thriving with activity on almost a daily basis. It gets people outside, engaging with friends, family, neighbors and the outdoor music piece enhances that. I have experienced it firsthand.

All the residences within proximity to Park Station are also within proximity to one of Alameda's vibrant retail corridors. If noise was a concern, that should have been considered more carefully when moving to the area and a few doors down from a vacant commercial property. Penalizing Park Station by not allowing outdoor music, on this basis, feels short-sighted and unfair. As a community, we should be doing all we can, collectively, to help facilitate this business' growth and success - no more roadblocks.

I believe the Park Station team has complied with all requirements under the current temporary permit and should be permitted to continue doing so on a permanent basis, at the terms approved by the Planning Board, during the February 23, 2026 meeting.

Sincerely,
Andrew & Brianne Schmieder

Subject: [EXTERNAL] I support our nightlife "noise" and Park Station.

I would like to write in support of continued live music at a reasonable volume (maybe not the decibel increase) at our local venues.

I'm particularly concerned about the impact this ordinance would have on live music in the Webster St corridor, an area which I frequent. Vibrant nightlife is good for our economy and community.

Thanks,

Subject: [EXTERNAL] Support for Live Music at Park Station Date: Tuesday, May 5, 2026 12:58:56 PM
Hello council members,
I live on the 1200 block of Park Avenue, on the opposite side of the fence from Park Station, just a couple of houses down. Our family enjoys hearing live music on the weekends and we would like to voice our support for this lively neighborhood spot. The music is not too loud, not offensive, and never goes too late.

Thank you,
Shanna Gaudenti
