CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. ______
AMENDING FISCAL YEAR 2026-27 HUMAN RESOURCES OPERATING BUDGET TO APPROPRIATE $250,000 FOR ADDITIONAL CONSULTING SERVICES AND RECOMMENDATION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A SERVICE PROVIDER AGREEMENT WITH NICHOLSON STRATEGIC SERVICES LLC FOR EXECUTIVE HUMAN RESOURCES SERVICES THROUGH JUNE 30, 2027, WITH TOTAL COMPENSATION NOT-TO-EXCEED $250,000 WHEREAS, the Human Resources Department has a need for an interim Human Resources Director and executive services; and WHEREAS, the City of Alameda (City) will be engaging in several high-impact and visible Human Resources projects and initiatives, including department oversight, contract negotiations, executive recruitments, and workforce development support; and WHEREAS, City staff conducted a search for qualified individuals and consultants to provide executive services and department oversight; and WHEREAS, Angela Nicholson of Nicholson Strategic Services LLC was determined to be the best qualified to meet the needs of the City; and WHEREAS, there has been submitted to this Council an agreement with Nicholson Strategic Services LLC for executive Human Resources services through June 30, 2027, with an hourly rate of $250, with a total compensation to not-to-exceed $250,000; and WHEREAS, the proposed Resolution would amend the Fiscal Year 2026-27 Human Resources operating budget to appropriate $250,000 for additional consulting services; and WHEREAS, the Council of the City has fully examined said agreement and resolution, and thereby finds and determines adoption of said agreement and Resolution to be in the best interest of the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Alameda that said Council hereby approves and adopts said Resolution to appropriate $250,000 for the Fiscal year 2026-27 Human Resources operating budget; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the provisions of this Resolution shall supersede any other resolution in conflict herewith. * * * * * *
