CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. _____
APPROPRIATING $1,000,000 FROM THE ALAMEDA POINT FUND (FUND 290) AVAILABLE FUND BALANCE TO ALAMEDA POINT FUND (FUND 290) AVAILABLE FUND BALANCE PROJECT C75400, ALAMEDA POINT FISCAL YEAR 2026-27 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT BUDGET WHEREAS, on June 17, 2025, the City Council did adopt a budget representing the financial plan for conducting the affairs of the City of Alameda for the Fiscal Year beginning July 1, 2026 and ending June 30, 2027; and WHEREAS, on September 17, 2026, the City’s Chief Building Official posted a Declaration of Unsafe Building and Notice to Vacate the building located at 2301 Sunrise Court, also known as Building 78 at Alameda Point, as well as an Investigation Inspection Report requiring the City to obtain required permits and demolish the building within 60 days; and WHEREAS, City staff have entered into an emergency Agreement with Silverado Construction, Inc. for the demolition and abatement work needed to comply with the Chief Building Official’s Investigation Inspection Report; and WHEREAS, the Council has considered the report and recommendations of the City Manager on the budget amendments and has determined that the budget amendments are both fair and appropriate; and WHEREAS, this budget ensures that the City of Alameda has exercised prudent judgment in its fiduciary responsibility as guardian of the public tax dollars.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Alameda amends the Fiscal Year 2026-27 Alameda Point Operating and Capital Budgets appropriating $1,000,000 from Alameda Point Fund (Fund 290) available fund balance to Alameda Point Capital Project Fund (Fund 301) Project C754000. ******
