ROLL CALL: At 5:14 p.m., on Monday, October 23, 2023, the Alhambra City Council met in Council Chambers of the Alhambra City Hall.
PRESENT: LEE, PÉREZ, MAZA
ABSENT: MALONEY , ANDRADE-STADLER

The City Clerk hereby report ed that she duly gave notice of the special meeting of the City Council being held this evening pursuant to the order of the Mayor and in accordance with Section 54956 of the Government Code of the State of California.
COUNCIL BUSINESS
1. REQUEST FOR COUNCILMEMBER PARTICIPATION VIA VIDEO/TELECONFERENCE PURSUANT TO GOVERNMENT CODE SECTION 54953(F) – F2M23-7, M2M23-186 On October 9, 2023, Councilmember Andrade-Stadler requested that her Council colleagues vote to allow her participation via video/teleconference at the October 23, 2023 City Council meeting due to medical reasons. Under current Government Code section 54953(f), this is allowable action if approved by the City Council. City Attorney MONTES delivered a staff report.
Discussion : None.
Action Taken : City Council approved Councilmember Andrade-Stadler ’s request by motion and vote d to allow her to participate and vote remotely via video/teleconference in City Council meetings due to an emergency medical reason under Government Code Section 54953(f). ( M2M23-186 )

Conference with Legal Counsel - Anticipated Litigation: Initiation of litigation pursuant to Govt. Code Section 54956.9(d)(4): 1 matter. whereupon at 5:15 p.m. the City Council moved into closed session pursuant to applicable law, including the Brown Act (Government Code Sec. 54950, et seq.) for the purpose of conferring with the City Attorney.
ANDRADE-STADLER: Councilmember Andrade-Stadler entered closed session at 5:16 p.m. via video conference.
MALONEY : Councilmember Maloney entered closed session at 5:22 p.m.
RECONVENE & CITY ATTORNEY REPORT : At 6:44 p.m. the City Council moved out of closed s ession with all members present.
ADJOURNMENT: At 6: 4 4 p.m. there being no further business for the Council to transact, the Mayor, with the consent of the City Council, adjourn ed the meeting .
