Alturas City Council
Special Meeting
City Hall Council Chambers
March 24, 2022 at 2:30 p.m.
Pursuant to Resolution #2021-55 adopted by City Council on October 19, 2021, the Alturas City Council Mayor Mark Steffek called the special meeting to order at 2:30 p.m. at the City Council Chambers and via teleconference. Councilmembers present: Mark Steffek, Kelly Crosby, Loni Lewis and Samantha Wood.
Councilmembers absent: Cheryl Nelson. Staff present: City Clerk Macey Binning, City Treasurer Dorothy Long, and Public Works Director Joe Picotte. Public attending: 1. All present joined together in the Pledge of Allegiance.
MOTION by Councilmember Crosby, SECONDED by Councilmember Lewis to adopt Resolution 2022- 15 providing the appointment of Nominated City Officers William Brian Cox, Councilmember, Paul J.
Minchella, Councilmember, and Dorothy M. Long, City Treasurer as if elected at the June 7, 2022 Election and canceling June 7, 2022 General Municipal Election. ALL AYES.
MOTION by Councilmember Lewis, SECONDED by Councilmember Wood to authorize the Mayor to sign the letter of intent to confirm that the City of Alturas will participate as a jurisdictional in the Modoc County Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Planning effort. ALL AYES.
MOTION by Councilmember Crosby, SECONDED by Councilmember Lewis to authorize City Treasurer Long to sign letter between the UPEC Local 792 General Unit and the City of Alturas pertaining to the Memorandum of Understanding. ALL AYES.
With no further business to come before City Council. MOTION by Councilmember Lewis to adjourn the meeting at 2:46 p.m. and to return in regular session on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at 2:00 p.m., City Hall.
SECONDED by Councilmember Crosby. ALL AYES.
