Special Meeting
City Hall Council Chambers
June 21, 2023 at 10:00 a.m.
Alturas City Council Mayor Brian Cox called the special meeting to order at 10:00 a.m. at the City Council Chambers. Councilmembers present: Paul Minchella, Samantha Wood, Kelly Crosby and Brian Cox.
Councilmembers absent: Cheryl Nelson. Staff present: City Clerk Macey Binning and City Treasurer Dorothy Long. Public attending: 3. All present joined together in the Pledge of Allegiance.
At 10:00 a.m., Mayor Cox announced the Council would be meeting in closed session under G.C. Section 54957 – Public Employment – Title: Public Works Director/Planning Director.
MOTION by Councilmember Crosby, SECONDED by Councilmember Wood to recess at 11:52 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. for lunch and continue in closed session under G.C. Section 54957 – Public Employment – Title: Public Works Director/Planning Director. ALL AYES.
Councilmember Wood was not present after 11:52 a.m.
Reconvened back to open session at 1:28 p.m.
MOTION by Councilmember Crosby, SECONDED by Councilmember Minchella to authorize the Public Works Committee to continue negotiating with selected candidate for the Director of Public Works/Planning Director position. ALL AYES.
With no further business to come before City Council, MOTION by Councilmember Minchella to adjourn the meeting at 1:29 p.m. and to return in regular session on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at 2:00 p.m., City Hall.
SECONDED by Councilmember Crosby. ALL AYES.
