Special Meeting
City Hall Council Chambers
July 6, 2023 at 2:30 p.m.
Alturas City Council Mayor Brian Cox called the special meeting to order at 2:30 p.m. at the City Council Chambers. Councilmembers present: Paul Minchella, Samantha Wood, Cheryl Nelson, Kelly Crosby and Brian Cox. Councilmembers absent: None. Staff present: City Clerk Macey Binning and City Treasurer Dorothy Long. Public attending: 1. All present joined together in the Pledge of Allegiance.
MOTION by Councilmember Crosby, SECONDED by Councilmember Wood to adopt Resolution #2023-34 approving the Landscape Design Agreement for the Modoc Community Park Project No: 2561 between the City of Alturas and Melton Design Group, Inc. ALL AYES.
MOTION by Councilmember Crosby, SECONDED by Councilmember Wood to adopt Resolution #2023-35 authorizing submittal of a Regional Used Oil Payment Program application with Modoc County as the lead agency, related authorizations and identification of regional participants. ALL AYES.
At 2:37 p.m., Mayor Cox announced the Council would be meeting in closed session under G.C. Section 54957 – Public Employee Appointment – Title: Public Works Director/Planning Director.
Councilmember Crosby had other obligations and left the meeting at 3:27 p.m.
Reconvened back to open session at 3:35 p.m.
MOTION by Councilmember Wood, SECONDED by Councilmember Nelson to authorize the Public Works Committee to continue negotiating with selected candidate for the Director of Public Works/Planning Director position. ALL AYES.
With no further business to come before City Council, MOTION by Councilmember Wood to adjourn the meeting at 3:35 p.m. and to return in regular session on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at 2:00 p.m., City Hall.
SECONDED by Councilmember Nelson. ALL AYES.
