I wrote out a public comment on item 11 but the website had an error and lost it, so I'm sending it by email this time. I've been listening in and attending these meetings for a little bit now, and one topic that frequently comes up are revenue streams. Now I've suggested connecting Green Island Rd to Napa Junction Rd via Paoli Loop and Lombard, but the railroad crossing is expensive and we have to have a revenue stream to pay for it. Why haven't you brought back our farmer's market? The people need access to fresh fruits and vegetables, and I have suggested, over and over, a better location. How much could the farmers market have lost? But we have $65,000 for a remote control lawnmower? This seems crazy to me. Certainly we could save thousands of dollars just by not getting a remote controlled mower, but a regular one? Do you think the residents want their public money going to fancy toys for city employees? Maybe we have too much of a revenue stream, if we can't find better ways to spend public money? Maybe we should stop selling energy from the solar farm back to the grid and start helping residents decrease their energy bills instead, since we have too much money? Or maybe we can construct a homeless shelter for the unhoused people in our city? Was the Family Resource Center ever given a grant? I'll bet it wasn't very much, if so. Maybe we should get a non-remote mower and give the difference to the Family Resource Center to help poor people survive. This is public money. Please consider that when voting on this.
