• Napa County – with funding from Napa City, Yountville, & American Canyon - operates the Napa County Animal Shelter & Adoption Center.
• The Shelter provides sanitary and humane treatment and care of stray, impounded, unwanted or surrendered animals.
• Dogs, reptiles, livestock, exotic pets, wildlife – and cats. • Current agreement ends June 2022.
• Pro-rata costs are allocated based on population not usage • Pre-pandemic, American Canyon constituted 21% of usage and 16% of cost.
• Tonight’s recommended Action is to renew the Agreement for an additional three years:
• Fiscal Year 2022-23: cost of $252,000 (1.6% increase) • Fiscal Year 2023-24: $267,648
• Fiscal Year 2024-25: $286,896
