The Facets of Community Livability
A livable community is a place that is not simply habitable, but that is desirable. It is not only where people do live, but where they want to live.
Conducting the Survey
• Approximately half of American
Canyon households were
randomly selected to participate.
• Conducted in February and March
2022.
• Randomly selected households
received multiple invitations in
varied formats as described in the
staff report.
Survey Participation
We met the goal of The NCS, to gather the opinions of a representative sample of American Canyon residents with a 95% margin of error.
Randomly Selected “Probability Sample” of households participated by invitation only through:
2022 National
Community Survey
Key Findings

leadership.
Although some aspects of American Canyon’s economy have seen small gains over time, this facet remains an area of opportunity for the community.
Survey respondents indicate that crime may be a concern, but value the City’s safety services.
American Canyon residents see their community as welcoming and inclusive, contributing to a positive overall quality of life.
