BUSINESS
1. 2025 Newell Open Space Management Plan
Council received a 2025 Newell Open Space Management Plan staff report from Parks & Recreation Director Alexandra Ikeda. Mayor Washington opened public comments. Written comments: none. Oral comments: Kara Vernor was called to speak. The public comment period was closed.
Council directed staff to remove the bike speed limit language and bring the item back on consent for approval.
2. Work Plan Fiscal Year 2025/26
Council received a Work Plan Fiscal Year 2025/26 staff report from Parks & Recreation Director Alexandra Ikeda. Mayor Washington opened public comments. Written comments: Chris Benz.
Oral comments: CJ Mintalar was called to speak; Katherine Bit was called to speak; Jim Wilson was called to speak. The public comment period was closed.
Action: Motion to adopt Minute Order 2025-15 approving the Open Space, Active Transportation, and Sustainability Commission Work Plan for Fiscal Year 2025/26 and to prioritize climate action items made by Councilmember David Oro, seconded by Vice Mayor Mark Joseph, and CARRIED by roll call vote.
