Re: Report Upon Return from Closed Session, Special City Council Closed Session Meeting of the American Canyon City Council of August 19, 2025 This communication sets forth reportable action, if any, of the City Council (“Council”) of the City of American Canyon (“City”), consistent with provisions of the Ralph M. Brown Open Meeting Act (Government Code Section 54950, et seq.) resulting from the Closed Session of the Special City Council Closed Session Meeting of August 19, 2025, consistent with Government Code
Section 54957.1.
Mayor Washington, Vice Mayor Joseph, Council Members Cruz, Oro and Lamattina convened in Open Session at 4:08 p.m. and after ascertaining that there were no public comments on the matters agendized for Closed Session consideration, adjourned to Closed Session at 4:08 p.m. to address the Closed Session Agenda. At 4:25 pm, the Mayor re-opened public comment to permit one speaker, Terry McGrath, to make a public comment regarding the subject of the closed session.
Upon conclusion of Mr. McGrath’s public comment at 4:47 pm, public comment was again closed and the City Council adjourned to their continued Closed Session regarding the following matter:
Conference with Legal Counsel – Anticipated Litigation Authorized pursuant to Government Code Section 54956.9(d)(2).

With respect to Closed Session Agenda matter, direction was provided to staff and legal counsel, but there was no reportable action under the common law attorney-client privilege and that provided by Government Code Section 54956.9(d)(2).
The Closed Session concluded at 7:18 p.m.
This communication should be reviewed under the Consent portion of the Agenda of your next Regular or Special City Council Meeting.
