Councilmembers: Brando Cruz, Melissa Lamattina, David Oro Re: Addition of 707 Community Helpers, a Local Free Food & Resources Distribution Non- Profit Organization, to August's City Council Agenda
July 20, 2026
Dear Mr. Washington and Councilmembers,
707 Community Helpers Inc, a non-profit organization that holds Free Food & Resource Distributions locally, would like to Request to be Added to the City of American Canyon's August Council Meeting Agenda.
707 Community Helpers serves local residents, including families and Seniors in need, by holding Bi-weekly Free Fresh Food and Resource Distributions which are open to the public.
As previously discussed with Mr. Washington, the specific Agenda Item we'd like to address is the City's potential Allocation of a Location (such as a Senior Community's Club House or other Community Center Room) in which 707 Community Helpers can hold its Bi-Weekly Food & Resource Distributions. We are Seeking a Community-accessible Room with Shelving and Refridgeration capabilities so that we may store food and resources in advance of each bi- weekly food distribution that we hold in the Club House/Community Room.
Thank you in advance for Adding "707 Community Helpers" to the City of American Canyon's August City Council Meeting Agenda. We look forward to addressing the Council to formally request the allocation of local Community Room Location for which we can hold Free Community Distributions.

I am a resident and taxpayer at 40 Palazzo Way, American Canyon, Ca 94503 writing to formally register a persistent public safety hazard. Unauthorized vehicles block our private driveway wings daily, trapping our household.
Managing this has become a second job. When I call the non-emergency dispatch line, responding officers only call the vehicle owners to move instead of issuing citations or towing. As soon as one car leaves, a new one takes its place.
To solve this, I formally requested that the city paint the 18-inch sloped wings of our driveway red, strictly adhering to American Canyon Municipal Code Section 10.32.170. Shockingly, Public Works staff denied my request, claiming a red curb is "redundant" and instructing me to just keep calling the ineffective non-emergency loop.
Telling a tax-paying resident to police the public right-of-way while denying a basic, codified municipal service is a classic bureaucratic runaround. Official red curb markings carry a psychological weight drivers respect and strip away excuses for parking enforcement.
I urge the City Council and City Manager to intervene and instruct Public Works to fulfill ACMC 10.32.170 by painting my driveway wings red to restore safe, reliable emergency access to my home. This website does not allow me to attach a copy of my email request and photos but are available if necessary.
Thank you,
Adelaida Domingo

Hello,
My name is Sandra Wall and I'm reside at 33 Corvina Way. I was part of the lottery that was facilitated for the below market program in 2007. When we initially moved in, we were informed that we needed to create our own HOA as the street is private. We made several attempts at doing so.
About 10 years ago, the neighbor who was trying to take it on, decided to move out of state. Since then, the end of our street is overrun with weeds that have become a breeding ground for what I've been told are sewer roaches. The majority of the owners spray the outside of our properties regularly to avoid them getting into our homes.
Since we are a private street, we were responsible for all streetlights, maintenance, and monthly cost.
Currently we have no lights on our street and is completely black at night. Except for the neighbors who have all mounted security lights on their front porches. This is a security concern. Earlier this year, I noticed that somebody had gone through my car the night prior.
We also installed a gate at the end of the street (per ACFD for safety). This was to avoid the multiple cars that cut through the street avoiding driving down the main street. The gate was broken with an Amazon truck driving through it. After the second time, it wasn't replaced and is now an eye sore at the end of the block. It also allows people to continue to drive the wrong way of the street. My daughter mentioned to me that she was coming home after dark a few weeks ago and almost hit a kid on an e- bike flying up the street. I'm afraid there's going to be a horrific accident one day soon I remember being thrilled after finding out that I had won the housing lottery. To be completely honest, I still am. I love living in American Canyon. My two oldest daughters graduated from ACHS and both went on the NVC. I appreciate all the family events and plan on going to the Smores and Meteors tomorrow.
I've spoken to some of the neighbors, and what we're requesting is to either be incorporated into the City or help set up an HOA for the neighborhood. It's been 19 years and the streets are taking a tole with weather and wear. I'm hoping to avoid a sink hole in the middle of the street.
