Existing Pedestrian Signals
Proposed Countdown Pedestrian Signals
Existing signals only have the WALK
and DO NOT WALK symbols, making
it difficult for pedestrians to gauge
how much time they have left to
cross the street.
The new signals will feature a visual
countdown timer that lets pedestrians
know exactly how much time they have
to cross the street. Accompanying
signage will explain how to read the
signals.
