DISCUSSION:
City boards and commissions perform a valuable service to the City by providing a means by which the City Council can obtain the advice, opinions, and recommendations of City residents and other members of the community. The Budget, Investment and Technology Commission acts as an advisory body to the City Council in matters pertaining to the short and long range financial planning and funding of City activities, the investment of City funds invested by the City Treasurer, and the use of information technology that will assist in the accomplishment of the City's goals and objectives. The Senior Citizen Commission advises the City Council as to the needs of the senior citizens within the community and makes recommendations to the City Council of possible City or community projects that directly affect Anaheim senior citizens. Each member is directly nominated by and serves a term concurrent with the nominating elected official, which is ratified by an affirmative majority vote of the City Council.
District 2 and 4 Council Members are scheduled to make appointments to fill their unscheduled vacancy to the Budget, Investment and Technology Commission and Senior Citizen Commission, respectively, to complete unexpired terms, ending December 31, 2022 and December 31, 2024.
Pursuant to Section 54974 of the Government Code, the Notices of Unscheduled Vacancies were posted and have remained posted for ten working days.
