RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council, by Motion, adopt uncodified ordinances to extend the terms of the non-exclusive taxi franchises for American Ground Transportation, LLC dba 24/7 Taxi Cab (50 taxicabs) and Cabco Yellow Inc. dba California Yellow Cab (155 taxicabs) until February 28, 2023.
DISCUSSION:
On May 17, 2022, the City Council introduced the subject ordinances for American Ground Transportation, LLC dba 24/7 Taxi Cab for 50 taxicabs and Cabco Yellow Inc. dba California Yellow Cab for 155 taxicabs extending the terms until February 28, 2023. A more detailed description of the proposed ordinances is provided in the attached May 17, 2022 City Council staff report (Attachment 3). If adopted, the ordinances will become effective on June 23, 2022.
IMPACT ON BUDGET:
There is no impact as the franchise fees will continue and have been included in the Planning and Building Department budget.
