RECOMMENDATION:
That District 4 Council Member, through the nomination and appointment process, appoint a member to the Housing and Community Development Commission, term ending December 31, 2024.
DISCUSSION:
City boards and commissions perform a valuable service to the City by providing a means by which the City Council can obtain the advice, opinions, and recommendations of City residents and other members of the community. The Housing and Community Development Commission acts as an advisory body to the City Council and assists in soliciting citizen participation relating to community development efforts and uses of HUD funds within each respective neighborhood council area. The commission member is directly nominated by and serves a term concurrent with the nominating elected official, which is ratified by an affirmative majority vote of the City Council.
Pursuant to Section 54972 of the Government Code, the Notice of Scheduled Vacancies was posted.
IMPACT ON BUDGET:
There is no budgetary impact.
