SUBJECT: DESIGNATION OF A VOTING DELEGATE AND ALTERNATES TO LEAGUE OF CALIFORNIA CITIES 2022 ANNUAL
CONFERENCE

RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council nominate and appoint a voting delegate and up to two voting alternates to the League of California Cities annual conference, to be held on September 7 – 9, 2022.
DISCUSSION:
The annual 2022 League of California Cities conference is scheduled for September 7 – 9, 2022 in Long Beach. During this conference, the League will hold their Annual Business Meeting on Friday, September 9, where the membership takes action on conference resolutions that establish League policy.
League of California Cities bylaws provides that any city official of a Member City (elected or city staff) may, with the approval of the City Council, be designated the City’s designated voting delegate. The bylaws provide that each Member City is entitled to one vote on matters pertaining to League policy.
IMPACT ON THE BUDGET:
Funds have been budgeted in the City Council’s FY 2022/23 General Fund budget for League Conference attendance.
