The bid was based on an annual requirement of 223 different types of automotive filters consisting of air, cabin, coolant, fuel, hydraulic, oil, power steering, and transmission filters. Filter replacement is a vital process for the overall performance of vehicles as it supports the removal of impurities from crucial components. Timely replacement of filters helps extend the longevity of the vehicle’s service life and curb possible costly repairs of City vehicles.
The term of the agreement will be for a one-year base period with up to four one-year optional renewals. Pricing shall remain fixed for the initial base period. Pricing for the renewal periods shall be negotiated each year with any increases not-to-exceed the most recent 12-month period for the Los Angeles-Long Beach-Anaheim, CA Consumer Price Index (CPI) for All Urban Consumers. In the event that prices increase beyond the CPI, Napa Auto Parts must provide verifiable evidence from the manufacturer to support an increase above the stated limit. It will be at the sole discretion of the City to accept or reject such an increase.
IMPACT ON BUDGET:
Sufficient funds are available in the Public Works Department Fiscal Year 2022/23 Motorized Equipment Fund budget. Funding for subsequent years will be subject to Council’s approval of budget appropriations.
