SUBJECT: ADOPTION OF ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 1.05
PERSONNEL SYSTEM OF TITLE 1 OF THE ANAHEIM

RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council, by Motion, adopt an Ordinance to amend Chapter 1.05 Personnel System of Title 1 of the Anaheim Municipal Code updating references in the Municipal Code to the Anaheim City Charter and Administrative Regulations, clarifying employees authorized to access and use state and local criminal information for the purpose of making employment, licensing or certification decisions, regrouping classes of employees deemed exempt from the classified service, eliminating references to consultants and to classifications recommended for deletion, and specifying the inclusion of the classifications of Chief Policy Advisor to the Mayor, Senior Policy Aide, City Council Aide II and City Council Aide I, Administrative Intern II, Administrative Intern I and Part- Time Ambulance Operator in the exempt service.
DISCUSSION:
At its November 15, 2022 meeting, the City Council introduced Ordinance No. 6548 amending Chapter 1.05 Personnel System of Title 1 of the Anaheim Municipal Code.
This Ordinance was introduced concurrent with proposed changes to Personnel Rules for Non-Represented Full-Time and Part-Time Employees. Amendments to the Municipal Code are recommended to update the Non-Represented classifications deemed exempt from the classified service and to make other changes to bring the Municipal Code current with the Anaheim City Charter, Administrative Regulations, and classifications currently in use by the City.

IMPACT ON BUDGET:
The proposed changes have no budgetary impact.
