A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM RATIFYING THE SUBMISSION OF A GRANT
APPLICATION AND THE ACCEPTANCE OF A GRANT ON
BEHALF OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM FOR THE FISCAL
YEAR 2022 COMMUNITY POLICING DEVELOPMENT (CPD)
LAW ENFORCEMENT MENTAL HEALTH AND WELLNESS
ACT (LEMHWA) IMPLEMENTATION PROJECTS GRANT ,
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER AND CHIEF OF
POLICE, OR HIS DESIGNEE, TO EXECUTE ALL REQUIRED
GRANT DOCUMENTS, AND INCREASING THE BUDGET
FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2022-23 ACCORDINGLY
WHEREAS, the Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (the “Grantor”) has heretofore invited public agencies, including the City of Anaheim, to submit applications for the FY 20 22 Community Policing Development (CPD) Law Enforcement Mental Health and Wellness Act (LEMHWA) Implementation Projects Grant (the “Grant”); and
WHEREAS, on April 25, 2022 the Chief of Police for the City of Anaheim, by and through his designee, submitted an application on behalf of the City of Anaheim to the Grantor for said Grant; and
WHEREAS, in response to that Grant application, the City of Anaheim was awarded One Hundred Seventy Five Thousand Dollars ($175,000) in Grant funds by the Grantor; and
WHEREAS, the City is familiar with the terms, condit ions and limitations of the Grant; and
WHEREAS, the City is willing and able to conform to each of the terms, conditions and limitations imposed upon the City of Anaheim pursuant to the Grant; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to amend the annual budget of the City of Anaheim to reflect and incorporate the One Hundred Seventy Five Thousand Dollars ($175,000) in Grant funds awarded to the City, and to increase the annual appropriations and expenditures in the appropriate City of Anaheim program to reflect such award.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim as follows:
1. The submission of the application for the Grant by the Chief of Police on behalf of the City of Anaheim, a public entity established under the laws of the State of California, to the Grantor is hereby ratified and approved.
2 2. The City Council of the City of Anaheim hereby agrees to, and by this Resolution, does accept the One Hundred Seventy Five Thousand Dollars ($ 175,000) in Grant funds awarded to the City without further action of the City Council being required therefore.
3. The City of Anaheim hereby agrees to comply with each and all of the terms, conditions and limitations imposed by the Grantor upon said Grant, and the Anaheim City Manager and Anaheim Police Chief , or their respective designees, are hereby authorized and directed to execute any agreements, assurances, or other documents that are required or necessary in connection with the acceptance or implementation of the Grant.
4. The annual budget of the City of Anaheim for Fiscal Year 2022-23 shall be amended by increasing the appropriations and authorized expenditures in the appropriate Police Department program account in such amount s as are equal to the amount of Grant funds to be received by the City.
