Re: Development Agreement No. 99-1/Annual Review Request by Hotel No. 1 and 2
Ladies and Gentlemen:
Pursuant to your request, we are writing to provide the City with a report on Hotel No. 1 and 2 under the Development Agreement.
Hotel No. 1
As previously reported in the last Annual Review, Hotel No. 1 has already completed construction and opened to the public.
Hotel No. 2
As previously reported, Hotel No. 2 has been delayed by the pandemic and resulting governmental orders, and California is still combatting new COVID-19 surges due to potential variants. Pursuant to the City’s approval, the deadline for construction commencement for Hotel No. 2 was extended to November 12, 2023, and the deadline for completion was extended to May 12, 2026. Hotel No. 2 has been diligently working with potential hotel brands, and our architect has commenced discussion with the City regarding potential layouts.
Hotel No. 2 is in compliance with its obligation under the Development Agreement, and is on track to commence construction by the extended deadline.
