Acceptance of Bid for Landscape Maintenance Services for Stadium Gateway Office Complex December 20, 2022

Page 2 of 2 ends

In March 2000, the City entered into the Declaration of Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions and Grant Reciprocal Easements for Sportstown Anaheim, which required the City, as manager of the Sportstown Homeowners Association, to be responsible for maintaining all common areas of the Stadium Sportstown Site including all landscaped areas that immediately surround the Stadium Gateway Office Complex. In April 2000, the City further entered into a Parking License Agreement with the owner of the Stadium Gateway Office Complex for use of 1,350 parking spaces and the fees collected from the Parking License Agreement are used to offset the maintenance costs of the common areas.

The bid was based on a fixed monthly cost for landscape services to maintain the Stadium Gateway Office Complex, located at 1900 S. State College Blvd. Services are to include, but are not limited to, the maintenance of plant materials, turf, irrigation systems, litter control, mowing, edging, and weed and pest control throughout the property.

The term of the agreement will be for a one-year period with up to four one-year optional renewals. Unit pricing is fixed for the initial one-year base period. Pricing for the renewal periods for all cost components other than direct labor shall be negotiated each year with any increases not-to-exceed the change in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for the L.A.-Long Beach-Anaheim areas for the preceding 12-month period.

Increases in direct labor shall also be negotiated limiting any change to the CPI and the actual amount of any increase in the prevailing wage. The 20% contingency is recommended to provide the ability to address any unforeseen service requirements that may arise during the term of the agreement.

IMPACT ON BUDGET:

Sufficient funds are available in the Convention, Sports & Entertainment Department Fiscal Year 2022/23 Stadium Enterprise Fund budget. Funding for subsequent years will be subject to Council’s approval of budget appropriations.

Respectfully submitted, Concurred by,
Barrick L. Bartlett Thomas Morton, Executive Director
Purchasing Agent Convention, Sports and Entertainment
