Hi there,
Yesterday, September7th, I wasdrivingdownKatella (fromthe5 towardsDisneyland) ataround15: 19 3:19PM). AsI approachedtheintersectionof KatellaandHasterarea, I noticedthatthecityhadgardenersout replacingtheplantsin themedian. I wasshockedandangeredatwhatI saw.

Notonlywerethesenewflowersbeijgplantednon-nativeplants, butthesprinklerswererunningandspillingall overthesidewalkandstreet. I findit incrediblydisrespectful, insensitive, andinsultinginthewakeofthe growingclimatechangeanddroughtconditionsthattheCityof Anaheimispermittingplantingof non-native plantsatsuchacrucialtimewhenourcitiesneedto berethinkingtheirlandscapingto fightclimatechange.

Ontopof that, duringthemiddleof adroughtwherepeoplearebeingaskedto conservewater, thecityof Anaheimwaswateringplantsandlettingsprinklerswastepreciouswater. Thisisunacceptable. If thecitizensof SouthernCaliforniaarebeingaskedto dotheirpartto combatclimatechangeandconservewater, thecityof Anaheimshouldbedoingtheirpartaswell.

It isacompletedisregardto alllivingcreaturesto continuepracticinginthisway. It isessentialthatthecityof Anaheimchangethesepracticesimmediately. Climatechangeisreal. Thisdroughtisreal. It isgoingto take EVERYONEto pitchinfor usto continueliving.

Pleasebringthisupatyournextboardmeeting. I requestaresponseaswellasinformationonhowthecityof Anaheimplansto immediatelychangethesetwocoursesof action. If I donothearfromthecityandtheir immediateplans, I will continueto writeanddemandchanges. Thisisnotacceptable.

Sincerely,
Brittany
