RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council, by Ordinance, establish the campaign contribution limit in the City of Anaheim Campaign Reform Law at $2,500, for the election cycle commencing on January 1, 2023, as required by Section 1.09.050 of the Anaheim Municipal Code.
DISCUSSION:
On January 24, 2023, the City Council introduced an ordinance establishing the campaign contribution limit in the City of Anaheim Campaign Reform Law at $2,500 for the election cycle commencing on January 1, 2023, as required by Section 1.09.050 of the Anaheim Municipal Code (Attachment No. 2 –Staff Report). The ordinance requires a second reading for adoption. Upon adoption, the City Clerk shall notify all candidates for City office of the amount of the contribution limit then in effect.
IMPACT ON THE GENERAL FUND:
There is no budgetary impact.
