DISCUSSION:
Performa is a mobile-based training program for peace officers focusing on de- escalation, use of force training, and other required key skills. The program provides California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) approved, self-paced, mobile training for the Anaheim Police Department. The program was developed by a team of law enforcement professionals, neurocognitive scientists, and technology experts to provide peace officers with realistic situations to improve their decision-making, de-escalation skills, and more. The technology platform has been deployed to sworn peace officers in California for over three years. POST has approved Performa as the first-ever self-guided training and has certified the product for Continuing Professional Training (CPT) and Perishable Skills Program (PSP) continuing education credits. There are over 150 police departments in California currently utilizing the Performa program.
The product will allow police officers in the Anaheim Police Department to complete interactive training on a mobile application. It will allow flexibility for the officer to complete the training at a time convenient for them, at the department’s discretion.
The pricing is $550 per year, per police officer/seat, and includes 14 hours of training modules. The department is purchasing 150 seats of training for a total annual cost of $82,500.
