Acceptance of Bid for Light Maintenance and Repair Services at City Parks and Ballfields February 28, 2023
The services may include, but are not limited to, troubleshooting electrical problems, furnishing and installing replacement bulbs, replacing ballasts, disposing of materials properly, and making electrical repairs where needed. This work requires a licensed electrician and will encompass work on light poles from 15 to 110 feet high. The contractor will be required to provide the appropriate equipment including bucket lifts and cranes. The bid was based on hourly labor rates for various job classifications. As work is identified, the contractor will be called out to review the scope and determine the appropriate staffing for the work. The contractor will provide maintenance and repair services to all City parks, as the need arises.
The term of the agreement will be for a one-year period with up to four one-year renewals. Unit pricing is fixed for the initial one-year period. Pricing for the renewal periods for all cost components other than direct labor shall be negotiated each year with any increases not to exceed the change in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for the Los Angeles-Long Beach-Anaheim area for the preceding 12-month period. Increases in direct labor shall also be negotiated limiting any change to the CPI and the actual amount of any increase in the appropriate prevailing wage.
IMPACT ON BUDGET:
Sufficient funds are available in the Community Services Department’s Fiscal Year 2022/23 General Fund budget. Funding for subsequent years will be subject to Council’s approval of budget appropriations.
