PROJECT: PRE-ENGINEERED BUILDINGS: SOUTHWEST SUBSTATION CONTROL BUILDING
Southwest Substation serves approximately 12,000 residents and businesses in Anaheim. The Public Utilities Department (APU) has an ongoing Capital Improvement Program to replace aging utility equipment to improve electrical reliability and operational flexibility throughout the City. The new control building houses electronic equipment used to monitor the local grid and enable remote operations for faster outage restoration. In addition to the control house, other facility improvements will be made to enhance perimeter security, replace high voltage equipment nearing the end of its useful life.
