ACTION:
That the City Council discuss and provide direction to the City of Anaheim’s appointees regarding the Anaheim Union High School District (AUHSD) Foundation’s proposal to restructure its board.
DISCUSSION:
At the April 18th City Council Meeting, Council Member Leon requested an agenda item to discuss the AUHSD Foundation’s upcoming vote to restructure the way Board members are chosen.
The AUHSD Foundation Board has indicated that this restructuring is being proposed in order to allow for renewed growth and energy in the Foundation Board and its activities.
Currently there are seven board members chosen by the following entities:

Discussion on Proposed Changes to the Anaheim Union High School District Foundation Board May 2, 2023
The proposed changes would alter the selection process to the following:

If the proposal is approved by the Board, the change will take immediate effect and representatives from the AUHSD Board of Trustees and the Anaheim City Council will be removed. Subsequently the AUHSD Board will reconstitute the AUHSD Foundation Board with seven at large members.
IMPACT ON BUDGET:
There is no budgetary impact.
