RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council, by Motion, adopt an Ordinance for the Seventh Amended and Restated Solid Waste Franchise Agreement (Agreement) with Republic Waste Services of Southern California, LLC dba Anaheim Disposal, (Republic Services).
DISCUSSION:
On April 18, 2023, the City Council following a scheduled public hearing, introduced an Ordinance for the approval of the Seventh Amended and Restated Solid Waste Franchise with Republic Waste Services of Southern California for the collection, handling, transportation, processing, recycling, and disposal of City solid waste.
The Ordinance requires a second reading and, if adopted, will be effective on June 1, 2023.
IMPACT ON BUDGET:
SB 1383 Organics Recycling Program cost increases are included in the Public Works Department’s FY 2022/23 Sanitation Fund budget.
