2. Authorize the Executive Director of the Convention, Sports & Entertainment Department to execute any other related documents, take any and all actions as are necessary to implement and administer the Agreements, and execute any optional renewals.

DISCUSSION:

It has been a long standing practice of the Anaheim Convention Center (Convention Center) to permit licensed contractors to provide various electrical services to tenants that the City signs a lease agreement with (e.g. NAMM, Natural Products) and their exhibitors who require these services in connection with events held at the Convention Center. For the ability to provide various electrical services at the Convention Center, the City of Anaheim requires that these contractors pay to the City a commission based on the gross revenues billed for the services that are provided.

The term of the agreement will be from July 1, 2023, through June 30, 2025, and may be extended for two additional one year terms, and will require all nine electrical contractors to pay the City of Anaheim 25% of gross billings earned from labor and 35% of gross billings earned on all other work performed at the Convention Center.

IMPACT ON BUDGET:

Revenues generated from these Agreements, estimated at $3.8 million annually, are used to support Convention, Sports & Entertainment operations.

Respectfully submitted,
Thomas Morton
Executive Director
Convention, Sports & Entertainment Department
