REQUESTED ACTION:
That the City Council, by Resolution, amend and restate the Council Rules of Order for the Conduct of Meetings to (1) revise the Order of Business in order to remove the second Council Communications section immediately preceding Council Agenda Setting, and (2) make other minor changes to the Order of Business.
DISCUSSION:
Mayor Ashleigh Aitken requested a revision to the Council Meeting rules and procedures in order to amend the order of business on the agenda. The proposal amends Section 2.01 of the Rules of Order so that the second Council Communications section immediately preceding Council Agenda Setting is removed. In addition, other minor changes to the Order of Business are being proposed, including a new provision allowing an agenda to have a different order when it has been properly noticed.
IMPACT ON BUDGET:
There is no budgetary impact.
