RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council, by Motion, accept the bid of Pricon, Inc., in the amount of $401,365.60 plus applicable tax, for the purchase of Aruba wireless & ClearPass equipment for use by the Information Services Division to upgrade the current legacy wireless network system all in accordance with Bid #9700.
DISCUSSION
Purchasing solicited bids from known suppliers and posted the bid on the City’s bid portal. Sealed bids were received by 2:00 p.m., June 14, 2023, from the following bidders, and were publicly opened immediately thereafter.

The bid was based on the cost of providing specific HPE equipment and supporting software & services. The networking components will be used to upgrade the City’s current enterprise wireless network system, which has reached the end of its lifecycle and is no longer supported. The upgrade will establish the infrastructure that supports secured wireless connection, customized management, and robust capability for the City’s growing mobility operations.
IMPACT ON BUDGET:
Sufficient funds are available in the Finance Department’s Fiscal Year 2023/24 Information Services Capital Improvement budget, which includes the Banc of America Public Capital Corporation (BAPCC) financing proceeds. The BAPCC funding was approved by City Council on March 1, 2022.
