RECOMMENDATION
That the City Council nominate and appoint a voting delegate and up to two voting alternates to the League of California Cities (Cal Cities) Annual Conference, to be held on September 20 – 22, 2023.
DISCUSSION:
The Annual 2023 League of California Cities Conference is scheduled for September 20 – 22, 2023 in Sacramento. During this conference, Cal Cities will hold the General Assembly on Friday, September 22, where the membership participates in the development and acts on conference resolutions that establish Cal Cities policy.
Cal Cities bylaws provides that any city official of a Member City may (elected or city staff), with the approval of the City Council, be designated the City’s designated voting delegate. The bylaws provide that each Member City is entitled to one vote on matters pertaining to Cal Cities policy.
IMPACT ON THE BUDGET:
Funds have been budgeted for League Conference attendance and are included in the Department’s budget.
