REQUESTED ACTION:
That the City Council discuss and provide any direction to staff regarding strengthening the City’s Lobbying Ordinance as well as exploring a potential council policy requiring City staff and City Council Members to disclose and report meetings with all outside lobbyists.
DISCUSSION:
Mayor Aitken has requested this item for discussion on whether the City should explore strengthening the city’s lobbying provisions within the “Sunshine Ordinance,” Anaheim Municipal Code (“AMC”) Chapter 1.11.70. Further, Mayor Aitken would like to discuss a potential Council Policy that would require City staff and City Council Members to disclose and report meetings with outside lobbyists.

There is no budgetary impact.
