RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council, by Motion, approve recognitions to be delivered at a later date.
DISCUSSION:
At various times throughout the year, the City Council recognizes outstanding individuals, groups, and organizations for their extraordinary achievements and/or contributions to the Anaheim community. Council has the discretion to issue Proclamations, Declarations, and Certificates of Recognition to these deserving parties.
The following has been recommended to receive a Proclamation or Certificate of Recognition:
Recognition: Recognizing the 60th anniversary of Cortina’s Italian Market and Eatery. (Requested by Council Member Leon)
Recognition: Recognizing Hope House for providing valuable mental health and addiction treatment services. (Requested by Mayor Pro Tem Rubalcava) Recognition: Recognizing Cambria Hotel employee Gerardo Cejas for his life saving efforts on July 10, 2023. (Requested by Mayor Pro Tem Rubalcava) Recognition: Recognizing Anaheim Artist William Camargo for being featured in a recent issue of The New Yorker magazine. (Requested by Mayor Aitken) Recognition: Recognizing the City of Anaheim’s 2023 Employee VIPs. (Requested by City Staff).
Proclamation: Recognizing September 2023 as National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month. (Requested by City Staff)
