Acceptance of Bid for Glock Handguns and Accessories
September 26, 2023
The bid was based on the purchase of 200 handguns and related accessories, including optic sights, lights, and holsters. The Police Department is in the process of purchasing handguns with options that incorporate newer technology and will assist with standardizing department issued equipment. This purchase will serve to outfit new hires and to replace outdated Glock handguns and their related accessories. Replacing older handguns will ensure uniformity across the department and provide handguns which meet the standard for duty. The improved sights and lights will assist the officer’s vision and improve safety. LC Action Police Supply offered the most competitive overall pricing and therefore staff recommends awarding accordingly.
IMPACT ON BUDGET:
Sufficient funds are available in the Police Department’s Fiscal Year 2023/24 budget in the restricted Department of Justice Equitable Sharing (asset forfeiture) fund.
Respectfully submitted, Concurred by,
John Vasquez Rick P. Armendariz
Acting Purchasing Agent Chief of Police
