Acceptance of Bid for Onsite Vehicle Washing Services
September 26, 2023

Page 2 of 2 ends

The bid was based on providing on-site exterior washing services twice per month for 250 medium and heavy-duty city vehicles such as dump trucks, aerial trucks, trailers, digger derricks, street sweepers, and large step vans, as well as 40 motor pool light duty vehicles. Services are to be coordinated and performed at the Utilities Service Center yard, Parks and Recreation yard, Fleet Services yard, and Street Maintenance Facility yard. The total of the agreement was determined by the cost per vehicle times the frequency of service. Outdoor parking exposure combined with regular use requires these vehicles to be cleaned frequently to maintain their appearance, the longevity of the equipment, and to ensure that they operate safely.

The term of the agreement will be for a one-year period with up to four one-year optional renewals. Unit pricing is fixed for the initial one-year base period. Pricing for the renewal periods shall be negotiated each year with any increases not-to-exceed the change in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for the Los Angeles-Long Beach-Anaheim areas for the most recent available month.

IMPACT ON BUDGET:

Sufficient funds are available in the Public Works Department’s Fiscal Year 2023/24 budget. Funding for subsequent years will be subject to Council’s approval of budget appropriations.

Respectfully submitted, Concurred by,
John Vasquez Rudy Emami
Acting Purchasing Agent Director of Public Works
